Welcome to DuPont
Peaceful, suburban locale encompassed by awe-inspiring natural scenery
Midway between Tacoma and Olympia, you’ll encounter the gorgeous city of DuPont. Originally named after the DuPont company (which had a factory in town from the early 1900s until 1975), the city is now home to almost 10,000 residents. It sits on the Puget Sound, near Nisqually Reach and Anderson Island. This idyllic, central location makes it a highly desirable city, which is one of the reasons that the area has grown substantially over the past decade.
DuPont is heavily suburban and primarily residential. On the southern edge of town, near Interstate 5, you’ll find DuPont’s main commercial district. In this neighborhood, you can try the menu items at local restaurants and pick up everything you need for daily living. Aside from this spot, there are few shopping, dining, or entertainment establishments in the city. Instead, residents bask in the tranquility of quiet communities and ample green spaces.
